The Risky Test

3 Month Live Test

After fixing many of the little issues from the 2 week test in Phuket, I am about to do a big test.  This test is a make it or break it deal.  If I fail, it could potentially mean disaster for this whole thing, and possibly get me fired.  At the very least, failure will cost me a lot of money.  Let me explain...

Anxious and Hopeful

I have been preparing for everything I can think of.  But, I have I thought of everything?  We will see. I hope I have, I feel confident that even if I haven't, I will be able to overcome whatever I need to without much of a delay.  It is always those unforeseen problems that will get you.  It scares the hell out of me to be taking such a big risk.  I could lose my job!  But, it is only a job, and I have left better jobs and I survived.

Worst Case Scenarios

Get fired
There are a couple of scenarios that I am concerned about, but I have contingency plans.
  • Work finds out early on has a problem with it
  • Work finds out and fires me

Solutions:

Work finds out early on has a problem with it.
It will really depend on how fast they find out.  If they find out in the first few weeks, and they have a real problem with it, I will have to come back to the US, work as I sell everything in my home, quit, and go back to Thailand.

If they find out a few months or longer into it, I will state that I have been there for however long it has been, and work with them to allow me to stay.  If they do not want me to stay, see above.

Work finds out and fires me.
Well, then the decision for income has been made for me.  I will still have to come back to the US and sell everything I can, and then move back to Thailand.

The Bottom Line

The bottom line is, I am 100% Planning on Thailand to be my new home, as long as I can work out the Thai Visa.  I am going to work with a law office in Thailand who specializes in visas.

My Thoughts

It is a bit scary, as there are a few unknowns.  I have planned and prepared as much as I can.  I have things in place to give me the best possible chance of success, but there is always that little thing you didn't think of.  I know I will be anxious until I have been working there for a few weeks.  I think if all goes well, the hardest part will be me working overnight, since Thailand is 12 hours ahead of where I currently live in the US.

I have not really worked nights before, so this will be a challenge, and it may be the biggest challenge in the entire process.  I realize that if they don't find out for awhile, I will be working those hours for a long time.  I think that concerns me more than anything else!

Coming Soon

This test is coming up sooner than later.  If you want to get updates on how things are going, keep an eye on this blog.  Once I get the timeline caught up, I will be posting more up-to-date information.  Keep an eye on the YouTube Channel, too.  I plan on posting some updates there in addition to these posts.  Of course, the more detailed posts will be on the blog :)
