Our First Harvest

Getting up early

Since my girlfriend has a lot to do on a daily basis, we have to get up before dawn to harvest vegetables.  There are no lights at the greenhouse, so she is picking the larger plants while I hold my cellphone up with the flashlight on.  It felt great.  Now, let's go get the kids to school!  But first, let's drop of some of these vegetables to a few food stands to sell.  Did I mention that this was only my 2nd day here?
The sunrise was beautiful from her house this morning.  I was finally seeing the house I have only seen from our video calls.  Even thought this was the first time I had physically been there, I felt at home.  we loaded up the kids into the car and proceeded to get them to their schools.

Once we were done with that it was time to eat.  There is a food stand near the last school we drop off, so we go there and was reminded of one of the many reasons I made the decision to move here, the food, and the cost of the food.  We both had good food, and the total cost was 100 baht ($3).  And it is good food.  While there, she asked the owner if she would like to sell a few vegetables here.  So, we dropped off a few more there.

Here are a few of the pictures of what we harvested and distributed this morning.

This was a great start to my living in Thailand.  However, we have already had a few challenges since this day.  Keep an eye on this blog to see what has been going on.  It isn't all rainbows and sunshine.
